Autumn pieces that won’t give you the chills

It’s time to wrap up, as we get deeper into autumn (winter is coming). It’s time to experiment with layering, play with textures and get into our soft knits. I’ve comprised a short list the best go-to pieces for the coming chilly weather, it’s adaptable, chic and very easy to style.

Oversized Cosy Knits
An essential piece for your wardrobe, warm and cosy, an oversized knit is perfect for the chilly weather. It’s like wearing a fashionable blanket, it’s long enough to almost reach your knees, nearing jumper dress territory, but baggy enough be slimming and flattering to a range of figures. Opt for a roll neck knit in white or a light marl grey for effortless style.

Faux Leather Biker Jackets
A jacket for all things cold, whether shearling or fur lined, it immediately adds a touch of edge to any outfit, giving your look another dimension. Add a plain pull over hoodie to make it casual, or a chunky knit to make it a little more smart. Though I think it’s best in black, there is an argument for getting a dark moss green for a little burst of colour (as long as your accessories match).

Gingham Scarf
The touch of colour that every autumn outfit needs. Drape it over your shoulders and wrap it loosely around your neck to create a cowl neck effect. Opt for a classic red check pattern for a tried and tested, yet edgy winter essential. If you’re looking for a chicer finish, choose a cool green.

High Rise Jeans
The easiest fit is a high rise, (I said what I said). It’s comfortable, stretchy and it smooths while hugging all of your best bits. Arguably, great for all year round, getting the right pair can be a little bit of a struggle, so it’s worth spending a little extra to get the right investment piece. Best in the darkest blue, 729 Levi’s lift and shape, giving us all the perfect rear end.

Chelsea Boots
A classic for your wardrobe all year around. Though it comes in a range of styles and textures, the mid-heel is great option for both day and night, as it fits around your outfit. The next thing to consider is texture: leather, faux leather, suede or patent? Think about the outfit as a whole, do you want it to blend in, or stand out? To accent a chic outfit, the sheen of a patent shoe pulls focus and adds some interest. Another great option is a burgundy or tan brown coloured suede. Pair it with a matching bag for an effortless look.

Trust me, you’ll look and feel fabulous.
